  • Small livestock farmers cheated

    – HA NOI — Small livestock farmers in Viet Nam are being robbed off due benefits to the tune of US$94 million a year, experts say.

    “Middlemen and large corporations are manipulating the market and stealing benefits that should belong to small scale farmers, and the Government must play a more active role to protect them,” Luu Bich Ho from the Institute of Policy and Strategy for Agriculture and Rural Development (IPSARD) said at a recent conference held in Ha Noi.

  • Vietnam ready for ASEAN Economic Community

    The report, compiled by consultancy firm Viet Nam Report (VNR), lists the 500 largest companies in Viet Nam in terms of revenue in 2014.

  • ASEAN investment pours into local market

    – HA NOI — Viet Nam continued to attract further investment from ASEAN countries this year, according to the Ministry of Planning and Investment’s Foreign Investment Agency.

    Figures from the agency showed that as of November 20, the ASEAN community had invested an overall total of 2,485 projects in Viet Nam worth US$44 billion. This is higher than the average foreign investment of $14.2 million per project in the country.
