Regional workshop focusing on standards, standardisation and sustainability for the CLMV countries

Alice Pham took part in a regional workshop focusing on standards, standardisation and sustainability for the CLMV countries; Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam organised during June 25-26, 2014 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The workshop is supported by the SESA programme “Trade promotion through standardisation in the South and Southeast Asia regions” and the ASEAN CSR Network, with financial support by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA). The main purpose of the workshop is to raise the awareness of the linkages between standards, standardisation and sustainability with highlighting important international standards for increasing the sustainability generally among organisations, institutions and companies and contribute to a more sustainable development.

Study tour to visit BSN – the national standard body of Indonesia within the framework of the SESA project

On 23 – 25 April, 2014, a study tour to visit BSN – the national standard body of Indonesia within the framework of the SESA project was organized. Alice Pham took part in the event as the representative of CUTS Hanoi.

Workshop “Integrating SMEs into Global Supply Chain – Improving Access to regional and international markets”

The US-ASEAN Business Council (US ABC) in cooperation with the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), and USAID organized a half-day workshop in Ho Chi Minh City entitled “Integrating SMEs into Global Supply Chain – Improving Access to regional and international markets”. Alice Pham was invited to participate in the event as a speaker. This event has been covered widely by local media and CUTS’s name was quoted.

Conference of The Centre for Competitiveness Studies and Friedrich – Naumann Foundatation for Freedom

The Centre for Competitiveness Studies under the Vietnam Institute of Economics in cooperation with Friedrich – Naumann Foundatation for Freedom organized a conference to disseminate the findings of the report “Private enterprises: Status, problems and policy implications” on April 10, 2014. Thanh Ha participated in the event.

Regional meeting for Asia-Pacific and the Middle-East of CI

A regional meeting for Asia-Pacific and the Middle-East of CI was organized on the 1st and 2nd of April 2014, back-to-back with a meeting of the CI project on “Consumers in the Digital Age 2014″ from 3 to 5 April 2014 in Chiang Mai, Thailand. To Tam took part in the meeting.

Public Participation and Accountability Facilitation Fund’s workshop

Public Participation and Accountability Facilitation Fund (PARAFF) organized outreach workshops in different provinces and cities, aiming at raising the knowledge regarding the selected themes of the next call for proposals, project writing skills, and any other issues and concrete requirements raised by applicants for formulating best possible project proposals.Thanh Ha participated in the field event in Hanoi on March 18 – 19.

ASEAN Expert Group on Competition

On March 10 – 13, Alice Pham has been invited to take part in a meeting of the ASEAN Expert Group on Competition (AEGC) in Manila, Philippines regarding regional sector studies (competition). During the event, Alice Pham shared CUTS’ experiences with regards to market studies and competition assessment.

Meeting of Working Group 3 of ISO 13065 Technical Committee

During 15 – 21 February, 2014, a Pre-seminar and a meeting of Working Group 3 of ISO 13065 Technical Committee (PC 248) took place in Berlin, Germany. Alice Pham attended these events.
