Trade promotion through standardisation (regional workshop in Sri Lanka)

A regional workshop within the framework of the SESA programme was organized in Colombo, Sri Lanka on July 1-2, 2013. Alice Pham participated in the workshop.

Training workshop for the Malaysian Competition Commission and stakeholders

During June 7 – 10, two training workshops for the Malaysian Competition Commission and other stakeholders (including the media) was organized in Kuala Lumpur under the framework of a project conducted by CIRC. Alice Pham attended the workshops.

ASEAN Brainstorming Meeting on Capacity Building Roadmap for Competition Policy and Law

During 29-31 May, 2013, Alice Pham visited Tagaytay, Philippines to attend an ASEAN Brainstorming Meeting on Capacity Building Roadmap for Competition Policy and Law under the invitation of GIZ.

25th anniversary of establishment of VINASTAS

The 25th anniversary of establishment of VINASTAS took place on 27th of May and a side meeting on the “Status of the Vietnamese Consumers” project was organized for CUTS HRC staff to discuss with local consumer associations and individual consultants. Alice Pham and To Tam were present in this event.

SIDA’s Regional Workshop on Anti-Corruption

On May 22-23, 2013, Alice Pham paid a visit to Bangkok, Thailand to participate in SIDA’s Regional Workshop on Anti-corruption on behalf of the SESA programme.

Training workshop on Stakeholder engagement in ISO

Within the framework of the SESA programme, a sub-regional training session for South East Asia countries took place on May 13-14, 2013 in Hanoi, Vietnam. The main purpose of this training session was to increase support and knowledge on how to strengthen the cooperation between the National Standards organizations and the private/public sectors. Aice Pham and Thanh Ha attended the training.

Launch meeting of the CREW project

Alice Pham and To Tam participated in the launch meeting of the CREW (Competition Reforms in Key Markets for Enhancing Social and Economic Welfare in Developing Countries) project in Jaipur, India during 13th-14th, March 2013. The main purposes of the meeting was to evolve the project methodology and approaches, and provide clarity on selection of the project countries and sectors, based on a ‘background paper’ prepared under this project. This meeting was attended by nearly 45-50 participants from many developing countries in Asia and Africa.

Trade promotion through standardisation (National planning workshop)

A Vietnam national planning workshop under the framework of the SESA programme was successfully organised in Hanoi on March 5, 2013. Participants included those who have already been involved in previous SESA activities since July 2012 – both the standard setting and standard implementation components. Alice Pham and Thanh Ha took part in the workshop.
